Vermont is investing millions of dollars in state funding to address Vermont鈥檚 workforce shortage. 51福利社, in partnership with other Vermont agencies, offers programs to encourage students to enter the Vermont workforce in specific high-demand fields, such as the skilled trades, nursing, and more.
This funding can reduce or eliminate tuition and other fees to help eligible students afford the degree or training they need to pursue the career they want.

This grant program supports eligible Vermont residents enrolled or planning to enroll in a qualified non-degree course or short-term training program that will enhance job skills to improve their ability to get a job, or that provides an introduction to college courses.
This grant program, in combination with other state and federal financial aid, offers free tuition at Community College of Vermont to eligible Vermont residents with a family income of $100,000 or less.

An interest-free forgivable loan that covers up to full tuition (maximum $23,000) for qualified students (Vermont residents or non-residents) enrolled in industry-recognized training and certification programs that lead to a career in select building, mechanical, industrial or medical trades; emergency services; energy; transportation; and other high-demand sectors.
Must agree to work full-time in their profession in VT for a minimum of one year following licensure or certification completion for each year of assistance received.
An interest-free forgivable loan for qualified students (Vermont residents or non-residents) enrolled in a program that leads to a graduate degree in nursing, including APRN, MSN and DNP, which qualifies them to teach at a nursing school in Vermont, at an accredited school approved for federal IV funding.
Must commit to work full-time as a member of the nurse faculty at a nursing school in Vermont for a minimum of one year following licensure for each year of assistance received.
An interest-free forgivable loan covers tuition (amount varies depending on the institution and/or program in which the student enrolls) for active members (Vermont residents or non-residents), in good standing, of the Vermont National Guard when they complete specific Vermont National Guard service obligations outlined by the program.
Must attend a Vermont State College institution, UVM, a Vermont private college, or an eligible training institution for a non-degree, certificate training, or continuing education program.
An interest-free forgivable loan for qualified students (Vermont residents or non-residents) enrolled in a master's degree program in psychiatric mental health nursing from an accredited school.
Must pass the Vermont licensure exam, and commit to work full-time in Vermont as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for a minimum of one year following licensure for each year of assistance received.
An interest-free forgivable loan for qualified students (Vermont residents or non-residents) enrolled in a practical nursing certificate program (LPN), an associate or bachelor鈥檚 degree, or graduate degree in nursing at a Vermont public institution (VTSU or University of Vermont); at a Vermont private institution or out-of-state institution.
Must commit to work full-time in Vermont as a nurse employed directly by a Vermont health care provider for a minimum of one year following licensure for each year of assistance received (cannot be a traveling nurse).
An interest-free forgivable loan that awards up to $50,000 annually for qualified students (Vermont residents only) enrolled as a graduate student who has completed the first year and is entering the second, third, or fourth year of a dental program at an accredited dental school.
Must commit to working in Vermont for a minimum of one year following licensure.
